There are four categories of members of the Institute of Banking and Finance of Trinidad and Tobago:-
- Corporate Members
- Affiliate Members
- Ordinary Members
- Honorary Members
Corporate Members consist of the Commercial banks, the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, and the University of the West Indies.
Affiliate Members consist of any other institution admitted by the Institute.
Ordinary Members are individuals who are eligible to become members of the Institute and can be in the following three categories:
- Student Members
- Associate Members
- Fellows
Student Members are individuals who are pursuing professional programmes offered by the institute.
Associate Members are elected by the Council, upon completion of the Diploma in Banking programmes, where they are awarded the A.I.B.A.F. designation.
Fellows consist of those persons who are accorded Fellowship status by the Institute in recognition of their contribution and service to the banking and finance industry and the Institute.
Honorary members consist of any person who, in the opinion of the Council of the Institute has rendered outstanding service to the Banking and Finance profession in Trinidad and Tobago and to the Institute of Banking and Finance.
