The IBAF is an awarding body and is responsible for the administering of exams. Our offered programmes are designed for self-study and as such, we do not provide tuition. However should you require additional guidance with your studies, a listing of tuition providers is can be found in the Programmes section of this website.

 

How long does it take to complete the Diploma in Banking?
The Diploma in Banking programme comprises fourteen (14) modules. Candidates may register for any number of modules. However, the IBAF does not recommend that candidates attempt more than three modules at any sitting. Exams are held twice yearly, in May and November.

 

How long does it take to complete the Certificate for Financial Advisors Programme (Cert.FA)?
The Cert.FA Programme may be completed in one year or a maximum of three years.

 

How recognised is Cert.FA?
The Cert.FA has been recogized and approved by the local Banking Sector as fully satisfying the requirements and standards necessary for Financial Advisors to practice unsupervised.

 

What is the procedure if I am unable to write the exams I have registered for?
Exam fees are non-refundable. Deferrals are ONLY granted in cases of serious illness or extenuating circumstances and at the sole discretion of the IBAF. Requests must be supported by written evidence and must be validated by the Institute. In such cases, a deferral fee of $86.25 is payable to re-sit the subsequent examination.

 

After I have completed my programme, when do I get my certificate?
Certificates are awarded at the IBAF graduation ceremony, which is usually in May of the following year.

 

Does my membership entitle me to a discounted rate for workshops/seminars?
All members are entitled to the members' rates for workshops and seminars.
